She looked at me and said, “It will get easier. I know it’s hard right now. You are figuring it out and it will get easier.”
My eyes welled up with tears.
I just needed to hear it from another mom.
Another mom who has been there.
Another mom who has managed a meltdown.
Another mom who has cleaned up a bathroom accident when you should be years past having bathroom accidents.
Another mom who has been up all night long caring for an anxiety ridden, overstimulated little boy.
Another mom who gets it.
Sometimes, you just need to hear it from another mom.
It was such a blessing, hearing those words of life and encouragement from her. And, although some things are still so difficult, it has gotten easier.
She was right.
We figure it out. We learn new strategies. We settle into our lives as they are, instead of what we expected them to be.
Sometimes, we just need to hear to from another mom.
