5 Days Of Homeschooling Children With Learning Differences

When we first started homeschooling seven years ago, we had not received any of my sons’ diagnoses (yet).

But it was clear that my boys needed a different approach to their education. One of the main reasons we chose to homeschool was their learning differences.

Both of my children have very high IQ’s but struggle to perform basic tasks like writing their first and last names, organizing their thoughts so that others can understand, and memorizing multiplication tables (please, do not get me started on the multiplication tables).

This time of year, I get a lot of questions about homeschooling children with learning differences.

Can I really do it?

What is the best approach?

How do you handle all the pressure?

Over the past seven years, I have learned quite a bit about homeschooling children with differences. Honestly, I think most of it is exactly like any other family homeschooling any other child. We all want the best for our kids and are doing our best to try to figure this education thing out.

But there are some areas in our homeschool that look very different.

Looking forward to reading these as they come in.

Also I wanted to tell you I showed my son the video of your son unpacking the Sensory box and he was extremely interested! Thanks for sharing that video. Please thank your son as well.

    1. I am so glad he liked it! We recorded it on a whim, and my son took it very seriously. It was so fun to do. And yes, Sensory Theraplay Boxes are one of the best parts of our month. 🙂
